James Baldwin Angelica Markén

James Baldwin Angelica MarkénI’m truly honored! ‘Les Amis de la Maison Baldwin’ (Art & Culture association that remembers and celebrates James Baldwin in France) asked for my portrait of Baldwin to their exhibition WOMAN ON BALDWIN.✨ Due to the current political climate I think Baldwin is still (unfortunately) extremely up to date and important to mankind, no matter gender or skin colour. He was a brilliant writer, a clear thinker and a brave activist – A true pioneer! He explored topics like racial, sexual, and class in western societies through his eyes as a intellectual, black, gay man. 🌈 James Baldwin was born 1924 in Harlem, New York, and died in Saint-Paul-de-Vence 1987 – Where now my portrait is available for visitors. ❤️ @james_baldwin_in_stpaul
